As part of its support activities for leaders and other organizational managers, the EQDI "En Quête D'ici" group organized a training session on smartphone video shooting and editing on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at its headquarters in the FAHD building in Dakar. This training aimed to provide technical skills in shooting and editing video using a phone.
During this training, participants learned about certain software programs necessary for shooting and editing video. The training was entirely hands-on, which proved to be the best learning method for the participants.
At the end of this training workshop, the participants expressed their satisfaction and at the same time invited others to undergo this type of training for greater efficiency in the use of digital tools.
With the evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT), having video editing skills is a way to evolve and develop, said Mr. MC (abbreviated as he did not wish to be identified): "We are in a world where technology is constantly changing and to be at the same level, you have to train."
He maintains that this is the first time he has attended this type of training and that he came away satisfied: "It's the first time I've discovered video editing, especially with my phone. The teaching methods used allowed us to understand better on site. I grasped the essentials in record time."
For Mr. Ibou Diallo, a French teacher, the method of combining theory and practice with clear explanations was important: "I don't regret coming because I'm passionate about digital technology, and learning how to edit videos has been very beneficial." He added that this type of event is an opportunity to seize: "If qualified people want to help us develop our skills, I think people should take the plunge and, above all, get trained."
Taking photos or videos is easy for anyone with a phone, but not everyone knows how to take professional-quality photos or videos. To help improve skills, trainer Joe Marone, a specialist in digital communication and web marketing, explained that "taking this training is an opportunity not only to become a professional but also to obtain high-quality images. These days, when there's a wedding, people spend a lot of money hiring photo studios or other services to take photos and videos, whereas with this training, participants will learn how to take a photo, how to shoot a video, and how to edit a video. I should point out that these images can be used on YouTube, Facebook, and even on television because they are broadcast-ready productions (PAD)."
With training in shooting and video editing using a smartphone, you'll become a professional photographer and audiovisual editor. No need for a whole team to immortalize events.
